| What makes Girlyz unique? |
Once male dominated, off-road sports are now drawing in female spectators and participators alike. Girlyz Clothing Co. is unique in this market because it is 100% dedicated to these women.
Unlike other off-road apparel companies, Girlyz is not “Guys gear turned pink!” Girlyz identifies with women riders and has come to conclude that the low quality products available for women are not suitable to meet the demands brought by the sport. | What Makes Girlyz Riding Gear Unique? |
Race Gear: Available in October 2006, this is the newest addition to the Girlyz product line-up. Girlyz race gear was designed to be the highest quality women’s race gear available on the market. After extensive market research and product testing on the field, Girlyz strongly believes its race gear will pleasantly surprise women of all ages.
Constructed to flatter a woman’s curves, the Girlyz race pant has been uniquely tailored to sit low on the waist and hug the hip and rear area by eliminating the “bulge” most riding gear creates. A two strap pull system at the waist has been added to compliment this tailored appearance. While achieving an aesthetically pleasing pant is extremely important, Girlyz has not overlooked functionality. In order to create a more comfortable fit for bulky knee braces, a stretch knee system has been developed. This knee system not only allows the pant to stretch behind the knee, it gives the pant room to stretch in front of the knee where knee braces can be the most cumbersome. The highest quality leather has been strategically placed in the pipe area to protect the pant against melting or burning. High quality TPR patches complete the look. Race pants are available in women’s sizes 3/4 to 13/14.
The matching jersey is also made on a custom pattern exclusively to Girlyz. Still leaving room for movement, the jersey has been tailored with a sliming, hour glass cut seen through the sleeves and into the body of the jersey. A v-neck finishes the jersey off with a feminine touch. Jerseys are available in women’s S-XL.
Matching gloves were designed with a snug comfortable fit. Constructed with upper breathable spandura, Velcro wrist closure, and high quality rubber patches, these gloves are the finishing touch to the perfect set of women’s gear. Gloves available in women’s S-L.
Recreational Riding Gear: These Girlyz pants are so hot, you won’t want to get them dirty! Made for the recreational rider, Girlyz recreational gear is designed to provide comfort, durability and fashion to all female riders. Being designed and sewn in-house, Girlyz is able to have complete control over how the pant is manufactured. All pants are constructed using a unique pattern, exclusive to Girlyz Clothing Co. These patterns were designed by women to flatter and fit the women’s figure.
In the highest effort to bring both fashion and quality to the dirt, Girlyz has chosen materials such as 500 Antron Nylon, 1000 Denier, and ballistic nylon as the structure of the pants. The 500 Antron Nylon allows for a more flattering fit while the 1000 Denier and Balistic Nylon prolong the life of the pant against hot pipes and rough terrain. A 100% polyester mesh lining has also been added to the inside of the pant in order to enhance comfort against rough seams. Double stitched for added strength and durability,
these recreational pants are meant to last.
While Girlyz knows each woman is different, pants come standard with a 33” inseam, giving enough length even for the taller woman. Riding pants can also be custom ordered to fulfill special requirements or requests. Available for young girls and women of all sizes; pants are available in sizes 0-20 for women and 2-14 little girls.
To complete the riding outfit, solid black and camouflage riding jerseys made of breathable mesh material are available in sizes XS-XL and 1, 2 and 3.
Post-riding apparel includes a range of bright colored tanks and tees, zip-up hoodies and sweats. A wide variety of accessories include beanies, hats, blankets, and Girlyz exclusive fashion belt buckles. |

| What Trends are you noticing on the off-road market? |
| Women have been drawn to off-road sports since the 1940’s. Miller Marketing and Communications notes that, “Since the introduction of motocross in the U.S. in the early 70’s, women demanded bikes of their own” (www.WomensMXHistory.com). It wasn’t until 1975 that the Women’s Motocross Nationals were created. With the exception of 1982 and 1986, the series has taken place every year since. Women’s involvement in motocross has come a long way. Although experiencing many ups and downs throughout their history with the sport, studies have shown that the growth of women in the motorcycle industry is continually rising. In 2003, the Motorcycle Industry Council reports that “Female motorcycle ownership is up nearly 10% of the motorcycle owner population.” Combined efforts through organizations such as the WMXA (Women’s Motocross Association, the WMSA (Women’s Motorsport Association, and the WML (Women’s MX League), have created the attention to women riders deserve. It is through these efforts we have seen the population of women riders continually grow, and become as large as it is today. |
