| August 8, 2007 - Washougal, WMA Round Five - A Race to Remember |
Valencia, CA - Aug. 8, 2007 – Girlyz Clothing Company
G. Fontenot

Women’s Pro Motocross proved to be one of the most exciting parts of the weekend as WMA Round Five took on Washougal, July 28, 2006. The pro women were subjected to a last minute schedule change and had to practice at 7:00 am, immediately followed by Moto One at 8:00 am – all of this occurring prior to the morning arrival of the weekends’ other participants in the Men’s Outdoor National Motocross Series. This didn’t stop them from delivering the kind of action that later kept the crowd cheering long after the men’s pro qualifying and practice were over.
Race one saw an aggressive Sherri Cruse grab the Girlyz sponsored Hole-Shot award but Jessica Patterson and Tarah Gieger were hot on her tail along with Ashley Boham. Tania Satchwell and Vanessa Florentino were also in the hunt. Honda’s Patterson and Yamaha’s Gieger made the pass on Cruse, but Gieger soon slid out in a corner allowing Satchwell to move in past her. Satchwell made the best of it, closing the gap by lap six. Kawasaki’s Tania Satchwell was able to take the lead away from Patterson briefly as Patterson made a mistake in the whoops. Patterson charged hard getting the lead back, holding on for the rest of the race. Satchwell did not give up however. She dished out relentless pressure, all the way to the end. Meanwhile, Mariana Balbi made her way up through the pack to claim yet another third place finish. By the end of the race, she had closed the gap on the leaders, again showing her ability to fight her way to the front. Balbi was followed by Elizabeth Bash and Sherri Cruse who were in excellent form the entire weekend.

Sherri Cruse - Hole-Shot Award
Moto Two was held at the end of the day. Scheduled for 5:15 pm, it was also delayed, as the men’s pro qualifiers and practices ran late. The pro women had a nine hour wait between Moto One and Moto Two. Not to be deterred, the women still put on a fantastic show for the enthusiastic crowd that stayed for the entire race as well as the podium celebrations.
Elizabeth Bash was hot off the start, winning the Girlyz Sponsored Hole-shot Award. She was followed by Jessica Patterson and Mariana Balbi. Patterson made the pass, taking the lead on the big downhill. Tania Satchwell was all over the back wheel of Fox rider Mariana Balbi while Brazilian rider Balbi pursued Kawasaki ’s Elizabeth Bash. Balbi was able to get by Bash in the back section but Bash reclaimed her position in the whoops. Meika Cornelius went down in the whoops in the first lap. By the end of the lap one, it was Patterson, Bash, Balbi, Satchwell, Cruse then Gieger.
On Lap Two, Mariana Balbi went down hard on the steep downhill, letting Satchwell, Geiger, Cruse, Florentino, and Whitmore get by, but quickly got back in the race. Tania Satchwell and Elizabeth Bash were in a heated battle by lap three with Geiger all over the back of Satchwell, making it a three way fight. While the competition raged behind her, Jessica Patterson pulled away gaining a 15 second lead.
Tania Satchwell finally got the jump on Elizabeth Bash on Lap Four Gieger also made her move, passing Cruse and Bash as well as she started her inevitable charge to the front. Mariana Balbi put the pressure on Sarah Whitmore on the big uphill, blazing by her in the woods, moving in behind Vanessa Florentino. Gieger and Satchwell then fought it out for the second spot, with Gieger finally getting the best of Satchwell, and setting her sights on Patterson who was still holding a 14 second lead.
Lap five saw the field start to spread out. Patterson was in the lead, then Gieger, Satchwell, Bash, Cruse, Florentino, Balbi and Whitmore. Patterson finally made a small mistake in the whoops, giving Gieger an opportunity to start decreasing the gap, reducing it to seven seconds. Bash and Cruse fought it out on the big uphill. Bash managed to hold of an aggressive Sherri Cruse as Mariana Balbi was finally able to get by Vanessa Florentino to pull in behind them.
By Lap Six, Gieger had shortened the gap to Patterson with only four seconds between them. She then reduced it to only a couple of bike lengths as they descended the big downhill with Gieger almost landing off the track in her aggressive pursuit. Gieger was unable to close the final gap however, as Patterson dug in and upped the pace, holding her off all the way to the checkered flag. At the finish line, it was Patterson, Geiger, Satchwell, Cruse, Bash, Balbi then Florentino, giving the overall win to Jessica Patterson with Tania Satchwell and Sheri Cruse in 2nd and 3rd.
A large crowd of excited spectators gathered around the podium as the women’s pro riders made their way up for interviews and trophy presentations. Champagne sprayed and teams and spectators enjoyed the post race celebrations in almost perfect weather.
With one race remaining in the championship, Jessica Patterson is 16 points ahead of Tarah Gieger, followed by Elizabeth Bash who is 39 points behind Gieger with Mariana Balbi and Tania Satchwell only 2 and 3 points behind Bash, respectively. It all comes down to the last round to see if Patterson can hold on to the lead to take another championship. The last round will also decide who will take the 3rd, 4th and 5th positions. Girlyz racer, Alisa Nix , currently in sixth, was unable to race the second moto after giving it a try in moto one. Nix dislocated her shoulder in the last round, taking her out of contention for the championship. The decision was made not to race and to try to return for the last race. This is a disappointing finish for the extremely competitive youngster who had some great battles and podiums this year, most recently winning the Mammoth Motocross race.
Don’t miss the final showdown at Steel City, Pennsylvania, August 25th. It is sure to be a memorable race as these brave women put it all on the line for WMA Championship finale. |

| July 5, 2007 - Traci Cecco Still On Top in Pursuit of Her 6th GNCC Championship |
Valencia, CA - July 5, 2007 – Girlyz Clothing Company
G. Fontenot
Girlyz Pro ATV Racer, Traci Cecco has the kind of natural beauty you might expect to see on the cover of a women’s fashion magazine. Fortunately for the world of four wheel racing, she is instead, out shredding through the countryside smokin’ the competition on her Yamaha YFZ450. An active positive roll model for young girls coming up in this world, she is anything but a just a pretty face smiling for the camera. A woman with true grit, talent and determination, she has taken quad racing to a new level. At a little past the half way point of the GNCC (Grand National Cross Country) ATV Championship, Traci has taken seven out of eight possible overall wins and given the competition something to worry about….. again.
What’s her secret to success? The age old combination of absolute commitment to hard work and training coupled with experience and tenacity. She trains as hard as the men, competes in triathlons to keep in tip top shape, and when it comes time to deliver the real thing, she comes through.
Winning isn’t new for this veteran pro racer, she is consistent and expects this of herself at every race, putting together a race program that makes sense and has earned her five GNCC Championships already. No stranger to putting a full minute gap in front of the second place rider, Traci has established herself as the premier woman in her class, the one to beat, the one to catch, a seemingly daunting task for the competition and something that rarely happens.
Traci started riding quads when she was 10 years old and has won numerous championships since starting to race at the age of 16. With 5 GNCC Women’s Class Championships under her belt, she is in pursuit of her 6th and it’s looking good so far.
Not one to let the boys have all the fun, she is the first female racer to win a GNCC Overall and was the recipient of the 2003 GNCC “Swamp Fox Award” given to riders showing true grit and sportsmanship under pressure. Cecco pushes hard and is no stranger to overcoming the obstacles. In a race in 2004 she broke her arm in a crash during the race but continued on to finish second. In 2003 she had to win three out of the last four events to take the championship. With determinationand a cool head, she wrapped it up on the last lap of the final race, many times working her way through the pack in those last races to get it done.
Traci will continue to race for the championship at Round Nine of the GNCC Championship series, September 1-2 at Mountain Ridge, Sumerset PA. If you get a chance to make it to one of these events, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll be able to spot her quite easily out in front on her #201 Yamaha YFZ450 wearing the Girlyz “Vision” Race Gear. Get that autograph and put it proudly on the wall. There are very few women out there like Traci Cecco. |

| July 2 , 2007 - Alisa Nix Takes on Budds Creek, Wins Mammoth |
Valencia, CA - July 2, 2007 – Girlyz Clothing Company
G. Fontenot
Alisa Nix was second in the WMA championship in 2006 but clearly has her eye on the number one plate this year. The stats of WMA Round Three at Budds Creek may be misleading, but if you were at the race, you were on the edge of your seat watching the young protégé give the veteran racers a memorable fight. Although a frustrating first moto second lap crash put her in a 16th place finish, she was unfazed and went into Moto Two with the confidence and composure of a seasoned racer. A resilient Nix gave the crowd a breathtaking performance they won’t soon forget. The spectators went wild as the battle for first raged between Fox rider, Jessica Patterson and Girlyz rider, Alisa Nix .
Nix got off the line right after Patterson, just missing the hole shot and taking the lead away in turn two. Patterson took back the lead a couple of turns later but would have to fight for every inch of track to make it stick. This was the beginning of lap after lap of close racing action that lasted the entire first half of the race. Nix gave Patterson no breathing room and Patterson had to ride a strong defense as she was unable to shake the young rider and pull away.
Sometimes overlooked in the media and press, no one could overlook the cool headed pass for pass racing this young rider dished out. Nix didn’t let up, did not let down and put non-stop pressure on Patterson. Riding smart, clearly improving each lap, she was closer to making a pass when she lost the back end flat tracking on the inside of the right uphill sweeper by the tower. This may have been the end of her battle for first, but she kept her head down and still managed to fight back up to fifth place after starting her bike and re-entering the race.
Although it may have been a disappointing weekend as far as podiums and points earned, Nix is still in 3rd place for the championship. Budds Creek showed the dominating ability of this young rider and the possibilities of even greater things to come.
With a confidence boosting fight under her belt, Nix moved on to Mammoth for the Ford Mammoth Motocross Races and did not disappoint. Nix walked away with the overall win after a 3rd and 1st place finish. This strong performance and important overall win helps fuel her momentum as she returns to the WMA championship series for the final half of the season.
Nix’s hard work ethic, dedication to training and smart racing continue to come together as she improves her status and performance with each round. See Alisa and the rest of these courageous women battle it out in WMA Round Four, July 21 in Lakewood Colorado at Thunder Valley MX. The end of the season is growing closer and each rider will be fighting for every crucial championship point.
Don’t miss the women’s racing on Saturday, July 21, Moto One at 10:15 am and Moto Two at 5:15 pm after the men’s timed qualifying. You won’t be disappointed. |

June 26, 2007 - Girlyz Race Team Takes on Budds Creek
WMA Round Three |
Valencia, CA – June 26, 2007 – Girlyz Clothing Company
G. Fontenot
Although the results from the Girlyz Pro Moto Team at Budds Creek may have appeared to be a little ho hum, the event was anything but that for the Girylz Race Team and the spectators who witnessed an exciting round three of the WMA championship, June 16, 2007.
Girlyz Pro Rider Alisa Nix came in 16th in Moto One after coming back from a crash in the second lap that left her stuck in the mud. This didn’t stop her from going after moto two with a vengeance.
Moto Two was a race to remember as Nix delivered an epic battle for the lead with Fox Rider Jessica Patterson. They had the crowd going wild as they diced for the top spot. Nix got the action started passing Patterson on turn two after Patterson flew out of the gate in front of her and grabbed the hole shot. Patterson took the lead back a few corners later.
Fox Rider, Patterson was unable to shake the tenacious youngster as the race progressed. Nix showed the maturity and patience she has developed this year riding smart and aggressive, studying, stalking and sticking right with the veteran champ. Nix was the only other female rider, besides Jessica Patterson and Tara Geiger, to consistently clear the big uphill step up in the back of the track setting the three riders apart from the rest of the pack. Nix clearly showed she has what it takes to run at the front and be one of the dominating forces in the 2007 championship fight. Unfortunately, at about the ten minute mark, Nix went down when she lost the back end flat tracking the uphill right hand sweeper by the tower. Undeterred, she got back on the bike and managed to work her way back to fifth place by the end of the moto, salvaging important championship points.
Girlyz Pro Rider Sarah Whitmore battled with Brazilian Fox Rider Mariana Balbi for fourth in Moto One. For six laps they gave the crowd another memorable battle until Whitmore was finally relegated to fifth place by a confident Balbi who made the pass stick charging hard on the inside. It was Balbi 4th and Whitmore 5th at the checkered flag. In Moto Two, Whitmore had a first turn crash which put her at the back of the pack but she put her head down and worked her way back through the field to finish ninth by the end of the moto.
With the championship at the halfway mark, Alisa Nix is in third place with three races to go. Nix was 2nd in last year’s championship and continues to show improvement with every race clearly proving her dominance as a serious contender. Whitmore is in seventh but will most likely improve her standings in the next round in Colorado .
The WMA racers once again surprised the crowd. Many of the spectators as well as the men’s pro riders and teams stayed to watch the action. They were not disappointed and were on their feet with excitement as the girls gave them a level of racing they will not soon forget. Autograph sessions at the WMA booth were extremely popular and the WMA racers continued to show their professionalism, dedication, and ability to be positive role models for tomorrow’s young female racers.
For a full comprehensive race report on WMA Round Three, go to http://www.girlyz.com/website/racereport.html.
Missing from the action at Budds Creek was Girlyz Pro Rider Katie McGuire who fractured her femur at Hangtown, WMA Round Two. Katie had surgery on the femur but is already back on the bike. This tough rider rode the practice motos at the Mammoth races last weekend to test out her leg but decided to play it safe and save herself for the WMA Championship. She is bicycling and training as well as riding her home MX track. The popular #98 will be back for round four of the WMA series in Colorado July 21.
Also returning to the action in Colorado will be Girlyz Pro Racer Lindsey Jelitto, a seasoned racer who will add even more excitement and competition to the Girlyz Pro line up. Aubriana Dunn will be out the rest of the season, requiring a second surgery on her shoulder but continues with the Girlyz Pro Team as rider support.

Girlyz Pro Team Pit |
The WMA held amatuer racing on Friday, May 18, with the professional races on Saturday, May 19th. The Pro women started out their morning with a change in race schedule that will most likely continue throughout the 2007 race season. Moto One began at 10:25 in the morning, and Moto Two was held at 5:15 pm, directly after the men’s qualifying races. This gave the fans an opportunity to see the exciting and competitive racing these women deliver. |

Girlyz Pro Racer, Katie McGuire
|
Katie McGuire, rode a smart, aggressive race and battled her way up to fifth where she was engaged in a fierce, four way battle, for the majority of the race. Katie finished in a respectable eighth place. |
|
Moto Two was held at the end of the day, following the final AMA Men’s timed practice. The track was rough, rutted out, and difficult to ride. The girls were able to start Moto Two with a site lap to check out the challenging course they were up against. When the gate dropped, Patterson grabbed the Girlyz sponsored Hole Shot Award, only inches ahead of Whitmore. Whitmore and Nix were immediately at home in the rough terrain. Whitmore, known for her ability to do well in rough conditions, was running in second with a comfortable gap back to Nix in third, until lap six. In a battle exiting a corner, she flew off the track, into a ditch, and took a hard fall over the bars. Whitmore was unable to start her bike in time to finish Moto Two. She had to get help starting the bike and was disqualified, post race, by a protest, but had been unable to finish the moto anyway. |

|
Girlyz Pro Racer, Alisa Nix takes 2nd Place, Overall
|
Nix had an amazing ride, locking in third place, early in the moto. Nix looked confident throughout the entire moto and was able to maintain a solid pace under serious pressure to the end of the moto. She maintained her aggressive, fast pace, didn’t make any mistakes, and held off the competition to finish on the podium, 2nd overall. |
|
In Moto Two, McGuire was hot off the starting gate but hit a large braking bump on a downhill section during the first lap. She was thrown hard off the bike, over the bars, and landed head first, breaking her femur during the crash. Katie was stabilized on the track and taken to UC Davis Medical Center where a pin was put in that night, for traction, to pull the femur back into place. Surgery was performed the next day to insert a rod through her femur. Her strong determination and spirit had her up pushing forward on Tuesday, already walking on crutches and able to make the 7 hour ride home. It is undetermined how long Katie will be out at this time, but she continues to improve and is talking about making it back for Budds Creek! |

| January 4, 2007 - Girlyz goes big and signs Sarah Whitmore for 2007! |
Girlyz Clothing Company, a company dedicated to bringing the highest quality riding gear to women in the motocross and power sports industry, has signed Sarah Whitmore for 2007. Sarah will help launch the company’s new line of women’s motocross gear, called “Vision.”
Sarah was quoted as saying, “I am super excited about teaming up with Girlyz, a company run by women for women, and they are truly focusing on the females of the sport. In fact, once I tried their new Vision gear on, I could tell they had done their homework, taking into consideration that women have hips and need a lower front panel on the pants. The Vision jersey is also cut different to fit better. Girlyz really hit the mark by coming out with a true top-shelf product, which includes leather panels along the inside of the knees, as opposed to simply putting women in a lower-level men’s gear and changing the color to appeal to females. I am really looking forward to 2007 and healing my shoulder to represent Girlyz to the fullest.”
“The sponsorship of top riders like Sarah, partnership with Team MotoworldRacing.com and the introduction of the Vision Race line marks the next era for Girlyz Clothing Company demonstrating our commitment to the sport and elevation of women’s motocross.” said Jeannie King, President of Girlyz.
Sarah will be teamed up with fellow-Girlyz rider, Katie McGuire and pitting out of the MotoworldRacing.com rig with her male counterparts. Leading up to her series, she will be attending the West coast Supercross races signing autographs and meeting fans. The first race is this weekend at Anaheim Stadium on Saturday, January 6, 2007. She will be at the team’s rig from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come by and say Hi.

June 14th, 2006- Girlyz Clothing Co.- A company dedicated to bringing high quality fashion to the motocross and power sports industry- is proud to announce sponsored rider, Katie McGuire, placed second overall in the Loretta Lynn Regional at Glen Helen June 10th, 2006.
As Katie pulled into the pits Friday night, she had a good feeling about the race the next day. Her bike was freshly tuned for competitive racing, and her confidence was stronger than ever. As mechanical problems predisposed poor finishes at the last two rounds of the 2006 Women’s Motocross Association (WMA) Hitachi Pro National Motocross Championship series, Katie had a strong ambition to show the competition what she is really made of.
Saturday morning practice was over as fifteen girls were lined up for the first moto. The starting gate dropped, and Katie got the hole shot! She led for three laps until Alisa Nix passed her on the last lap. Second place wasn’t bad, but there were two more motos to go. In the second moto Katie got another hole shot and led the entire moto with a first place finish. Third moto came around and Katie finished third. Final results left Katie with second place overall!! This was her first professional podium of the season.
Girlyz is proud to support Katie for the 2006 riding season. Girlyz President, Jeannie King, exclaims, “Katie has definitely proven she is qualified to race against the top girls in motocross. The entire Girlyz team is excited to support her for the remainder of the WMA Hitachi Pro National Motocross Championship Series and the much anticipated Loretta Lynn Amateur Motocross Finals.”

| May 23, 2006 - Girlyz Rocks Hangtown |
May 23, 2006- As thirty-one women battled the track at Hangtown, it has become clear that competition is only going to get tougher in the Women’s Motocross Association (“WMA”). With two races completed, the 2006 Hitachi WMA Pro National Motocross Championship, presented by Kawasaki, is more exciting than ever.
Girlyz Clothing Co. is honored to have three riders on the track in 2006; Sarah Whitmore, Aubriana Dunn, and Katie McGuire. Hangtown was a trying time for all three girls as they battled for points to improve their overall score. Girlyz is pleased to announce that both Sarah and Aubriana finished within the top ten after falling in both motos. Katie suffered some mechanical problems with her bike and was obligated to ride another bike. After struggling with suspension issues she still managed to finish 11th overall! It is amazing to support three girls with so much passion and drive for the sport of motocross.
With such a long break in between races, you would think a vacation might sound nice- but not for Aubriana, and Katie. Their plans consist of daily training and practice. Aubriana will be traveling to the East coast to continue racing amateur days at the AMA Toyota Motocross Nationals. Katie has a private track located at her home in California for daily practice sessions. Sarah, on the other hand, was scheduled to race in France, but after suffering a separated shoulder prior to Glen Helen, Sarah is now planning to use this time to rest in order to be ready for the remainder of the WMA events, and in preparation to defend her Loretta Lynn’s Championship.
Girlyz is excited to support Sarah, Aubriana, and Katie, in their quest for the title. You can find the girls in the pits at any of the remaining rounds. Aubriana and Katie will be pitting at the Girlyz trailer. Sarah can be found at the Richardsons RV rig, where signed posters are available. Good Luck Girls, and see you at the races! |
